April 4, 2012 – New York, N.Y.: LUNGevity Foundation, the nation’s largest lung cancer-focused nonprofit, unveiled a 115 square-foot display at 10 Rockefeller Plaza with the message: “Moments can take your breath away, lung cancer shouldn’t.”  The display, on view April 3-30, 2012, highlights LUNGevity Foundation and their work to improve lung cancer survival rates, ensure a higher quality of life for lung cancer patients, and provide a community for those impacted by the disease.

The window space was donated by EHE International, America’s oldest and largest preventive health company. “EHE International is happy to donate the window in Rockefeller Center for the month of April to LUNGevity Foundation.  Together we hope to enlighten, inform and raise awareness about the specific needs of over 226,000 Americans diagnosed with lung cancer every year,” said Deborah McKeever, President of EHE International.

Founded in 2001, LUNGevity funds research for the earlier detection and more effective treatment of lung cancer. LUNGevity also connects people affected by lung cancer with other patients/survivors, caregivers and medical experts to get the information and support they need. Resources the Foundation provides include the largest lung cancer-specific online support community; LifeLine, a telephone/email buddy program; LUNGevity’s Caregiver Resource Center; an extensive online blog; Ask the Experts, providing experts at visitors’ fingertips; a clinical trials matching service; and LUNGevity LinkUP for those interested in becoming advocates. With over 60 locally-based events every year, LUNGevity has the largest grassroots lung cancer network in the nation.

“Lung cancer does not discriminate based on race, gender or smoking history. Its impact is huge, but we can all make a difference to change this public health tragedy. There is promise for better treatment and cures for the disease. We are very grateful to EHE International for the opportunity to share this message of hope with so many people” said LUNGevity Foundation President Andrea Stern Ferris.
